You may use Scripture Scanner for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the app in any way that violates local, national, or international law
  • Copy, reproduce, or resell any part of the Service
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to our code or infrastructure
  • Misuse the AI features, including submitting inappropriate, offensive, or confidential personal content

Account Registration

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account using your email or a third-party provider (e.g., Google). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the app with a parent’s or guardian’s consent.

Subscriptions & Payments

Some features of Scripture Scanner require a paid subscription:

  • Subscriptions are managed via RevenueCat and billed through Stripe, Google Play or the App Store

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You are responsible for managing your subscription through your platform (Google, Apple, or Stripe). We do not offer refunds once a billing period has started, except where required by law.

AI-Powered Features

Some features use OpenAI’s language model to generate responses. By using these features, you acknowledge that:

  • You are solely responsible for the content you submit
  • AI-generated outputs are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or aligned with your religious interpretation
  • Outputs may vary or be unpredictable at times

Do not submit sensitive personal information, passwords, or private data to these features.

Intellectual Property

All content in Scripture Scanner, including text, images, branding, logos, and code, is owned by Scripture Scanner or licensed appropriately. You may not use, copy, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written permission.

User-Generated Content

If you upload or submit any content (e.g., scanned texts, notes), you retain your rights to that content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, store, and display it for the purpose of operating the Service.

You agree not to upload any content that:

  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Is unlawful, defamatory, or obscene
  • Contains personal data of others without consent

Limitation of Liability

Scripture Scanner is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. While we aim for high accuracy and reliability, we do not guarantee:

  • The completeness or theological accuracy of content
  • That the app will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • That content generated by AI is always appropriate or correct

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Illegal or abusive behavior
  • Misuse of our systems or features

You may stop using the Service at any time. Deleting your account will remove your user data from our active systems, subject to our Privacy Policy.

Fair Use

We are committed to making Scripture Scanner accessible and useful for all users. To maintain the quality, stability, and integrity of the Service, you agree to use the app in a fair and reasonable manner. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Engage in excessive, automated, or scripted requests that place an unreasonable load on our systems
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, subscription restrictions, or access controls
  • Use the Service for data scraping, bulk content extraction, or creating competing services
  • Abuse free features (e.g., repeatedly creating and deleting accounts to avoid subscription requirements)
  • Share your account credentials with others for the purpose of unauthorized access
  • Use the Service in ways that interfere with, disrupt, or negatively impact other users

We reserve the right to monitor usage and take appropriate action – including suspension or termination of accounts – that violate these Fair Use guidelines.
